On October 22, 2022, we had the pleasure of speaking with DC-based author, designer, and fine artist Allen-Golder about his most recent publication, "Afotez: Paper (doll), Cotton (bandage), Stone (soldier)".

Our conversation explored the internal and external modalities of Black identity as well as the necessity of deconstructing outdated ideological frameworks serving the Black liberation tradition.

Through this discussion, Allen elaborated on how this book provides an important level of philosophical context for his work as a designer and fine artist.
